Frequently Asked Questions
What is a world?
A world is essentially an app, or program, built using World of Hello. There is no difference.
What platforms can people play my apps on?
World of Hello is currently supported on Windows, Linux, and Android devices. When we get the funds to expand, we will support Mac and iPhone devices.
If I build an app, do people need to have World of Hello to play it?
No. We will allow you to package your world as a standalone program and sell it as you please. We won't even require a percentage of your income.
Do people have to have an account to play my app?
Nope. Totally up to you. We allow you to set your World properties to allow users who haven't logged in or who don't have an account.
Can I have my own login system?
Of course. We have code that allows you to bypass the World of Hello login screen and allow users to go straight to your own login. If you so choose, you can even allow users to bypass your personal login system if they've already logged into World of Hello.
What can I build with World of Hello?
Anything. There is support for 2D, 3D, elements, and back-end support. As we're still in development, you may give suggestions for any tools you might need, and we will get on that right away.
Can I make money from my app built with World of Hello?
Eventually, yes. We're still in the development stages, so at the moment there is no support for payments. When we expand and get the funds to set everything up, then absolutely.
How many people can be on my app's server at a time?
There is no set limitation.
How do I start building a world?
If you have World of Hello downloaded, you will need to create an account if you don't have one already, then select the "Create World" button on the main screen.
How do I allow someone else to code on my world?
If you're using the global package, you can go to the menu, select "Online List", find or search for the account name of the person you'd like to give permissions to, open their account, and add any permissions to them that you want.
